My Wish For You

My next post is about Hollywood, I promise. I have it practically composed. But today you know I had to Merry Christmas you instead.

Agent Holly sent me a Christmas wish for all my favorite holiday movies and “the best imaginable puppy-pile with all four of your dudes” and when I read the wish I thought, “How does she know?”

That is definitely the perfect holiday wish for me, which despite reading my blog she couldn’t truly have known without a lot of love for me. ;) And so my holiday wish for all of you is the best imaginable of whatever your favorite moment might be.

I had a day recently that was the best day I’d had in weeks. It was kind of a big deal. Michael and I went to Kansas City for a recheck with my lung surgeon. And you know what he told me? He said, “Yes, Serenity, I got it all.” He cut out one nodule and dug out the other and then he did some wash thing throughout my chest cavity that apparently can kill stray cancer cells as well. And after all that I said, “So…technically…I’m cured.” And he totally agreed.

I’m cured, People. I don’t have cancer on Christmas. I still have to do chemo, of course. It’s an important part of doing everything we can to make this my last recurrence. But I’m focusing for now on the technically. And I’m all over the puppy pile.

So please, before you go, think of the happiest possibility for your Christmas. And consider that my wish for you.

  1. Andrea Cerretti says:

Well, you just posted ONE of the happiest possibilities for my Christmas lovie–May it be a MERRY MERRY ONE!!

  2. My Christmas wish came true when I received this four word text I’ve mentioned before…..

    “they got it all”

I love this picture of you, and the surrounding background. And what I REALLY love is…..I can totally see you in that puppy pile.

    Merry Christmas Seren <3

  3. Seren is cured! I got what I wanted this Christmas.

  4. I love you girls!

Alison, I cried when I read this – such achy, happy tears because you’ve never even met me in person and you live so far away and yet my health was a Christmas wish for you. What a beautiful thing.

  5. I just saw this and I’m echoing Alison – I wanted a clean bill of health for you this Christmas. And I hope you got that puppy pile. :)

  6. wonderful, sweet news! Smiles. Time to have the boys over when chemo starts. LOVELY picture. :)
